Concrete Forest

The goal of this project was to create a line concept for a brand. I chose to design a line for Polar Skate Company, a brand who predominantly targets men. I wish that women in skateboarding had access to the cool, niche skateboarding brands that men do. Women shouldn’t have to sacrifice fit and style to support the brands that they identify with.

The purpose of this line was to provide clothing that will have the same function and aesthetic as men’s skate apparel while embracing the differences of womens bodies.

Women in skateboarding are not going anywhere. It’s time that companies fill this gap in the market by designing clothing that will allow women to identify themselves within the skateboarding community and express themselves in a unique and authentic way.

Target Market

I began my design process by analyzing the target market and researching trends. After deciding on my intent for this line I created a mood board to help visualize my ideas.

I wanted this line to reflect the casual, carefree nature of skateboarding.
